Terms of Use

Anchor · dbappsystems.com · Effective July 14, 2026

1. What Anchor is

Anchor shows you a page you wrote earlier, and holds it on the screen for sixty seconds. Then it shows you a button and lets you go. That is the entire product.

It does not block anything. It does not filter anything. It does not report to anyone. It does not monitor you. It has no accountability partner, no administrator, and no observer. Nobody is watching, including us.

2. What Anchor is not

This section is the most important one in this document. Read it before you use the app.

3. Your words are yours

Everything you write in Anchor belongs to you. Completely and without qualification.

We claim no ownership, no license, no right to use, publish, display, analyze, train on, quote, excerpt, or transfer it. We do not read it. Your entries are not our content, not our asset, and not part of anything that could be sold or transferred if this business changed hands. If we ever cease operating, the data is destroyed — not sold, not assigned, not included in any sale of assets.

The application itself — its code, design, and question set — is © dbappsystems.com. The questions are our original expression. The answers are entirely yours.

4. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older. Do not use Anchor if you are under 18.

5. Your key, your responsibility

Anchor has no accounts. Your device holds a random key; our server holds only a one-way hash of it. We cannot identify you, verify you, or restore anything to you.

If you lose your key, everything you wrote is gone permanently. There is no reset, no recovery, and no support path that can change that. This is a consequence of building it without collecting identity, and you accept it by using the app. Write your key down somewhere physical.

Anyone holding your key can read and delete your entries. Protect it accordingly.

6. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access entries under a key that is not yours, probe or attack the service, automate requests against it, or use it to store anything unlawful. Rate limits apply and are not negotiable.

7. No warranty

Anchor is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that anything you write will be preserved. It may go down. It may lose data. It may end without notice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, dbappsystems.com and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use Anchor, under any theory of liability, whether or not we were advised of the possibility.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, total aggregate liability for any claim relating to Anchor is limited to one hundred United States dollars (US $100.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Assumption of responsibility

You decide whether to use Anchor and what to do afterward. The app holds a page for sixty seconds and then opens the door. It does not stop you, advise you, or decide for you. Every choice on either side of those sixty seconds is yours, and this tool is not a substitute for professional care, medical judgment, or the people in your life.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless dbappsystems.com and its owner from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of Anchor or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Changes and termination

We may change these Terms; the effective date at the top will change with them. We may suspend or end the service at any time, for any reason, without notice. Export your entries if they matter to you.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Madison County, Illinois, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

United States law only. Anchor is offered from the United States and is not directed to, or intended for use by, persons outside the United States.

13. Entire agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and dbappsystems.com regarding Anchor. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
